City's Right to Plant, Maintain and Remove Trees on Private Property <br /> <br />Selected text was: "The City shall have the right to cause the removal of any dead, diseased or <br />structurally damaged trees on private property when such trees constitute a potential hazard to <br />life and property within the right-of-way or on public property." <br /> <br />Items 4 through 22 were skipped. <br /> <br />23. Duty to Advise <br /> <br />Selected text was: "When planning for the parks and or any other area of the City under the <br />control of the park or other boards or commissions, the Environmental Policy Task Force shall <br />make their recommendations in writing to the appropriate board or commission who shall adopt <br />or otherwise act on the recommendations as they see fit. Notwithstanding any other revision of <br />this Ordinance, or related City ordinances, the Environmental Policy Task Force shall <br />recommend, but have no final authority. The Ramsey Environmental Policy Task Force shall be <br />advisory in nature with the purpose of providing advice to the Mayor, City Council, and other <br />commissions as to the preservation, protection and management of the community forest of <br />Ramsey, in accordance with the intents and purposes of this chapter. To influence quality of new <br />development and improvement of existing properties by reviewing existing ordinances and <br />petitioning for modification as appropriate." <br /> <br />24. Duty to Advise on Ordinances, Policies, Specifications and Legislation <br /> <br />Selected text was: "The Environmental Policy Task Force may make recommendations to the <br />City Council through the appropriate Council committee, and to city departments or other <br />advisory bodies as may be appropriate, on such ordinances as it deems appropriate to accomplish <br />the purposes." <br /> <br />25. Duty to Review Plans <br /> <br />Selected text was: "The Environmental Policy Task Force shall be responsible for reviewing <br />plans for residential, commercial and industrial developments in order to ascertain the number <br />and size of trees proposed to be removed from building sites and to make recommendations <br />concerning the retention of existing trees on said sites and the planting of new trees in areas <br />where trees have been removed. The Director of Parks and Recreation shall review each <br />landscape plan submitted to determine whether or not it complies with the requirements of this <br />ordinance. The Environmental Policy Task Force may assist in environmental assessment <br />activities, as appropriate, upon request from the City Council." However, it is understood that <br />the review of plans called out in the first sentence will be performed by some entity other than <br />the Task Force. <br /> <br /> <br />
