26. Duty to Accept Gifts <br /> <br />Selected text was: "Make recommendations to the mayor and council on using donations to the <br />city for programs sponsored by the EPTF." <br /> <br />27. Duty to Develop a Management Plan <br /> <br />The Environmental Specialist, with the assistance of the Environmental Policy Task Force, shall <br />develop, and each subsequent year, update the Urban Forestry Plan. The plan shall outline urban <br />forestry program activities for a minimum of the next five years. This plan shall describe the <br />urban forestry activities to be undertaken by the city, the reasons for those activities, the possible <br />funding source(s), the means of accomplishing the activities, the alternatives available to the city <br />to fund or accomplish the activity, the projected date of completion, and the consequences if the <br />activity is not completed. Activities may include but are not limited to street tree inventory, <br />planting, tree removal, beautification projects, and educational projects. It shall be the <br />responsibility of the Environmental Policy Task Force to study, investigate, counsel and develop <br />and/or update periodically a written plan for the care, preservation, trimming, planting, <br />replanting, removal or disposition of public trees and shrubs. The Environmental Policy Task <br />Force shall insure that the plan will be in conformance with the goals and objectives of the City <br />of Ramsey Comprehensive Plan by submittal to the Planning Commission for review and <br />approval. Upon approval and adoption of the recommended plan by the City Commission, it <br />shall constitute the official Community Forestry Plan and become a part of the Comprehensive <br />Plan for the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />28. Duty to Develop and Maintain a Tree List <br /> <br />Selected text was: "To recommend to the proper authority, the type and kind of trees to be <br />planted upon such municipal streets or parts of municipal streets or in parks as is designated. <br />This includes, but is not limited to, advice as to the kinds and species of trees unsuitable or <br />undesirable for planting, such as noxious trees, and advising as to the areas and conditions under <br />which suitable and desirable trees should be planted. Only desirable, long-lived trees of good <br />appearance, beauty, adaptability, and generally free from injurious insects or disease shall be <br />planted in public sites." <br /> <br />29. Consensus was to delete "Duty to Develop and Maintain a Master Tree Planting Plan" <br />from the ordinance draft. <br /> <br />30. Duty to Amend Management Plan <br /> <br />Selected text was: "The Environmental Specialist shall have the responsibility of regularly <br />updating a master systematized tree management and planting program." <br /> <br />31. Duty to Supervise <br /> <br />Selected text was: "The Environmental Specialist shall have the authority and it shall be his or <br />her duty to supervise all work done in accordance with the terms o£this ordinance." <br /> <br /> <br />
