City Engineer Page 3 <br /> <br />Establish design and maintenance standards for all engineering projects. <br />1. Review and establish standards for development and capital improvement projects. <br />2. Assure that desired pedormance and utilization is achieved as planned. <br /> <br />Function as a liaison and advisor for the City. <br />1. Funclion as a liaison and advisor for the City with consulting engineers, government <br /> agencies, developers and others to assure the coordination of development activities <br /> within the community as planned. <br /> Attend meetings of the City Council, Planning Commission, and other meetings as <br /> assigned or requested. <br /> Represent the City in contacts with the public as well as with other employees, other <br /> City officials and outside units of government in a manner which will command respect. <br /> Keep City Administrator promptly informed of all matters of major importance as they <br /> relate to the Public Works and inspection and recommend actions with respect to such <br /> matters. <br /> Direct special studies as seems justifiable involving programs and take appropriate <br /> action as may be justified to improve the various public works services to the City. <br /> <br />J. Perform a wide range of tasks (within the ability and resources of the City Engineer) <br /> at the verbal or written direction of the City Administrator. <br /> <br />POSITION RELATIONSHIPS: <br /> <br />Internal: <br />I. Frequent contact with personnel within the Engineering Department <br />2. Frequent contact with Public Works Department <br />3. Frequent contact with other Oily personnel <br /> <br />External: 1. Frequent contact with the public <br /> 2. Frequent contact with City Council and advisory Commissions <br /> 3. Frequent contact with consultants <br /> 4. Occasional contact with other governmental agencies <br /> <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <br /> <br />1. Possession of a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or <br /> university. <br />2. Professional registration in the State of Minnesota. <br />3. Minimum of 2 years civil engineering experience after registration. Prefer municipal <br /> experience or other public sector experience. <br />4. Previous computer experience, knowledge of CAD/CAM and it's implementation. <br />5. Prefer at least two years of supervisory experience. <br /> <br />10'7 <br /> <br /> <br />
