170.0555D Automobile service area <br /> <br />Automobile service area means gas stations, drive-in restaurants, drive-in <br />theaters, etc., or any other type of business where an automobile is used as <br />the recipient of the service or product, or where an automobile is necessary <br />to obtain or to make use of the service or product. <br /> <br /> Subdivision 1. Wall Signs and Roof Signs: The total area of all <br />wall signs affixed to a building wall and all roof signs parallel to a specified <br />wall shall not exceed fifteen percent (15%) of the total area of that wall. <br />However, the maximum size of any roof sign is eighty (80) square feet. The <br />use of a roof sign will substitute for a free standing business sign along the <br />frontage it faces. <br /> <br />Sub& 2. Free Standing Signs: <br /> <br />One (1) free standing sign allowed per principal building <br />on each street frontage. The total area of a free standing <br />sign for a building having one (1) street frontage shall not <br />exceed eighty (80) square feet. Where a building has two (2) <br />or more street frontages, only one (1) free standing sign of <br />the above size shall be permitted. Each permitted free <br />standing sign in excess of one (1) shall have a sign area not <br />to exceed fifty (50) square feet. The maximum height of <br />free standing signs shall be thirty-five (35) feet. <br /> <br />Temporary product sale, stamp and game signs may <br />occupy the remainder of that area not utilized for the <br />permanent free standing brand sign, provided the total <br />area of all permanent and temporary signs does not exceed <br />eighty (80) square feet. The use of a roof sign will substitute <br />for a free standing business sign along the frontage it <br />faces. <br /> <br /> Sub& 3. Pump Signs: Lettering or symbols which are an <br />integral part of the design of a gasoline pump shall be permitted. <br /> <br />170.053M. <br /> <br />Sub& 4. <br /> <br />Private Traffic Directional Signs: Refer to Section <br /> <br />Subd. 5. Temporary Signs: Refer to Section 170.053P. <br /> <br /> Sub& 6. Rest Room Signs: Signs indicating the location of <br />rest rooms and containing no advertising information shall be permitted as <br />needed. <br /> <br />170.055E Industrial type districts <br /> <br /> Subdivision 1. Identification Signs: One (1) free standing sign <br />allowed on each street frontage, not to exceed eighty (80) square feet in area. <br />One (1) additional wall identification sign for each tenant having a private <br />entry to a multi-tenant building; and the total area of such signs being <br /> <br /> <br />
