REPORT FROM ROAD AND BRIDGE COMMITTEE <br />By: Pete Raatikka, City Engineer <br /> <br />The Road and Bridge Committee met at 4:00 p.m., June 18, 1990 at <br />the city Hall. Members present were Councilman A1 Pearson, <br />Councilman Ken Peterson, Public Works Supt. Merle Mevissen and <br />myself. The following items were discussed and recommendations <br />were made on action to be taken. <br /> <br />Item~l: Proposed Closing of Trunk Hwy. 10 Median Cross-Overs <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />A discussion was held in regard to a letter received by Pete <br />Raatikka dated Uune 6, 1990 from Mn/DOT. This letter states that <br />Mn/DOT is proposing to close seven selected median cross-overs on <br />T.H. No. 10 in conjunction with their resurfacing project. <br /> <br />The following five landowners or business owners were present to <br />voice their opposition to closing of the cross-over west of the <br />weight station: <br /> <br />Linda Obrycki, 9349 N.W. Hwy. 10 <br />Dennis Peck, North Fork, Inc. <br />Frances Welte, 9421 N.W. Hwy. 10 <br />Carroll Welte, 9421 N.W. Hwy. 10 <br />Kermit Bode, 9423 N.W. Hwy. 10 <br /> <br />Several letters were presented in opposition of closing the weigh <br />station cross-over and also one letter opposing the closing of the <br />Pearson farm crossing was presented. The Road and Bridge Committee <br />later contacted landowners in regard to the other crossings and <br />found that landowners were opposed tot_he closing of two additional <br />crossings. One at station 372 and one at station 481. <br /> <br />The Road and Bridge Committee directed Pete Raatikka to respond to <br />Mn/DOT's letter requesting that four-of the cross-overs be left <br />open. The Road and Bridge Committee also asked that this item be <br />placed on the June 26, 1990 Council agenda for adoption of a <br />resolution supporting the letter sent by Pete Raatikka to Mn/DOT. <br /> <br />Enclosed for your information are the following: <br /> <br />ao <br /> <br />do <br /> <br />eo <br /> <br />Letter to pete Raatikka dated June 6, 1990 from Mn/DOT. <br />Mn/DOT plans showing the cross-overs to be obliterated. <br />Letter dated June 14, 1990 ko ~r.
