Proposed resolution requesting Mn/DOT leave open certain median cross-overs. Recommen~ation= The Road and Bridge Committee recommends that the City Council pass the attached resolution requesting Mn/DOT to leave open certain median cross-overs on T.H. #10. Council ~otion: Motion to adopt Resolution #90-06- requesting Mn/DOT to leave open certain median cross-overs on T.H. #10. Item ~2: Review Need for "Watch for Children" Signs in the City. As requested by the City Council at their May 8, 1990 Council meeting, the Road and Bridge Committee discussed the need for additional "Watch for Children" signs in the City. It was the consensus of t_he Committee that no areas at this time were in need of such signs. The Committee also directed Mr. Mevissen to review future requests on a case by case basis and it he had questions on action to get back to the Road and Bridge Committee. Council ~ction: Item ~3: Use of Waste Tires in Sub-Grade Road Beds. Mr. Raatik~ka stated that Waste Management is requesting to use waste tires in the construction of the road bed of 153rd Avenue through their property. Mr. Raatikka stated that MPCA does not allow the use of waste tires in surface waters or below the water table. Also, all proposals must meet MPCA guidelines which requires the use of tires to be economically and technically beneficial to the project. IThe consensus of the Road and Bridge Committee was to allow WMI to~ use waste tires i~ the road bed- - if they met all MPCA guidelines and assumed all liabIlity for the life of the proposed road.. / / Council Action: No action required.
