CASE <br /> <br /> BOND ISSUE FOR PARKS <br />By: David R. Hartley, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the last City Council meeting, the issue was raised regarding the need for parks and <br />leisure time facilities within the City of Ramsey. At that time, a proposal was suggested to <br />the City Council to consider a request of the electorate for authorization to issue bonds to <br />pay for such leisure time facilities within the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />In order to fully evaluate this matter, I would request that the City Council appoint a sub- <br />committee to review the options and report back to the City Council by August 28, 1990. <br /> <br />Observation: <br /> <br />The Budget Committee is going to be very busy during this period of time reviewing the <br />budget and the various requests. Therefore, the Council may wish to appoint members <br />who are not involved in the budget review process. <br /> <br />Ballots will be printed shortly after filings for offices close on September 11, 1990. <br />Therefore, a decision about a bond issue question should be made by that date. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to appoint and to serve as a committee to <br />review the need for a request for authorization to issue bonds for park purposes. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />City Attorney <br />City Engineer <br />Community Development Director <br />Public Works Supervisor <br /> <br />X <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Planning & Zoning Commission <br />Park & Recreation Commission <br />Other <br /> <br /> <br />
