Also, portions of the traveled road surface are
not located within the right of way and under a previous agreement,
the city has stated they would realign the north end of Bison
Street at the time of upgrading. The present drainage system
utilizes ditches along each side of the existing street which
drain to the low areas in adjacent lOts. In a majority of the
project, the ditches are poorly graded. The absence of culverts
under driveways and street causes storm water runoff to flow over
driveways, street and pond in low areas of~the adjacent properties,

thereby making the existing drainage facilities generally
inadequate and adversely impacting the adjoining lots.

PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS

Since the present street and drainage system are generally
inadequate and the City has agreed to realign the street at the
time of upgrading, it is our recommendation that a suburban street
section be utilized. Based on the comprehensive plan and the City
Code, we would recommend that Bison Street be constructed as a
through street eliminating two cul-de-sacs. However, an alternate
project consisting of a cul-de-sac will be shown.

STREET IMPROVEMENT

The existing street is proposed to be relocated, graded and shaped
to accommodate a minimum street width of 31 feet as shown on
Exhibit Bo The suburban streets would be paved 31 feet wide with
a bituminous berm.
