A. "Greenstreak" 748 PVC dumbbell in size to suit joint. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.1 SURFACE CONDITIONS <br />A. Examine the areas and conditions under which work of this Section will be <br />performed. Correct conditions detrimental to timely and proper completion of <br />the Work. Do not proceed until unsatisfactory conditions are corrected. <br />3.2 REINFORCING <br />A. Comply with the following, as well as the specified standards, for details and <br />methods of reinforcing placement and supports. <br />1. Clean reinforcement and remove loose dust and mill scale, earth, and <br />other materials which reduce bond or destroy bond with concrete. <br />2. Position, support, and secure reinforcement against displacement by <br />forms, construction, and the concrete placement operations. <br />3. Place reinforcement to obtain the required coverage for concrete <br />protection. <br />4. Install welded wire fabric in as long lengths as practicable, lapping <br />adjoining pieces one full mesh minimum. <br />5. Unless otherwise shown on the Drawings, or required by governmental <br />agencies having jurisdiction, lap bars 42 diameters minimum. <br />3.3 EMBEDDED I I'EMS <br />A. Do not embed piping, other than electrical conduit, in structural concrete. <br />1. Locate conduit to maintain maximum strength of the structure. <br />2. Increase the thickness of the concrete if the outside diameter of the <br />conduit exceeds 30% of the thickness of the concrete. <br />B. Set bolts, inserts, and other required items in the concrete, accurately secured so <br />they will not be displaced, and in the precise locations needed. <br />3.4 MIXING CONCRETE <br />A. Transit mix the concrete in accordance with provisions of ASTM C94. <br />B. Do not use concrete that has stood for over 30 minutes after leaving the mixer, or <br />concrete that is; not placed within 60 minutes after water is first introduced into <br />the mix. <br />3.5 PLACING CONCRE I <br />A. Preparation: <br />1. Remove foreign matter accumulated in the forms. <br />03300-5 <br />
