2. Boards: No. 2 and Better Common or Construction Grade Ponderosa Pine, Sugar <br />Pine, Lodgepole Pine, White Woods or Sterling Grade Idaho White Pine. <br />2.2 PLYWOOD <br />A. Plywood shall conform to U.S. Product Standard for Construction and Industrial <br />Plywood, PSI. Panels shall bear the appropriate APA trademark. <br />B. Plywood sheathing shall be 1/2" or 5/8" CDX exterior grade. <br />C. #15 asphalt building felt, non -perforated, ASTM D226. <br />D. Housewrap by TYVEK or equal. <br />2.3 ROUGH HARDWARE <br />A. Provide fasteners of size and type indicated below that comply with <br />requirements specified for material and manufacture. <br />B. Where rough carpentry is exposed to weather, in ground contact, or in area of <br />high relative humidity, provide fasteners with a hot -dip zinc coating, ASTM A153 <br />or AISI Type 304 stainless steel. Use only screws or bolts with preservative <br />treated wood. <br />C. Fastener types: <br />1. Nails, wire, brands, and staples; FS FF-N-105 <br />2. Power driven fasteners: National Evaluation Report NER-272 <br />3. Wood Screws: ANSI B18.2.1 <br />4. Lag bolts: ANSI B18.2.1 <br />5. Bolts: Steel bolts complying with ASTM A307, Grade A; with ASTM A563 <br />hex nuts. <br />2.4 PRESERVATIVE TREATMENT <br />A. Wood blocking, stripping, furring and similar concealed members in contact with <br />concrete and masonry walls shall have preservative treatment. <br />B. Preservative treated lumber shall conform to the applicable requirements of the <br />American Wood Preservers Association (AWPA) Standard CS-85. <br />06100-2 <br />
