CONSIDER CHANGE ORDER FOR <br /> CENTRAL PARK <br />I By: Merland Otto <br /> <br />Background= <br /> <br />Council approved Resolution 90-07-218, July 24, 1990 authorizing <br />the work on two softball fields in Central Park and allocating up <br />to $100,000.00 for the improvements. Our preliminary cost estimate <br />was for approximately $91,000. <br /> <br />As part of this grading project, in order to try to balance cut and <br />fill, we spoiled material in such a way as to achieve the grading <br />for the soccer field. Thus, under the current contract, both the <br />softball fields and a soccer field have been created. <br /> <br />Since we anticipated a higher contract cost and the immediate <br />concern for the soccer field was not expressed, we did not include <br />the irrigation of the soccer field. <br /> <br />However, the actual contract award was for $72,508.92. I have <br />since requested a cost to extend the irrigation system to include <br />the soccer field and have received a cost estimate of $8,578.00. <br />This is a reasonable cost for the work and my recommendation would <br />be for the Council to approve adding this to the project. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Approve Change Order No. 1 increasing the contract for Improvement <br />Project 90-26 from $72,508.92 to $81,086.92. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to adopt Resolution 90-09- approving/disapproving Change <br />Order No. 1 increasing the contract for Improvement Project #90- <br />26 by $8,578.00. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator X <br />city Attorney <br />City Engineer X <br />Community Development Dir. <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Public Works Supt. <br />Other <br /> <br />X <br />X <br /> <br /> <br />
