Mr. Ulrich suggested it might be a little premature to get property owners riled up. Maybe we <br />need to work with MnDOT staff first and not get congress people involved yet. <br />2.4) Consider Demolition and /or Lease Agreement for 7157 Highway 10 NW <br />Director of Public Works Olson stated that this is similar to the Oasis Market topic. The area has <br />been officially mapped. He wanted to make certain there is no conflicting information - does the <br />City Council want staff to move forward with the lease agreement or do the demolitions without <br />a lease agreement. He detailed some of the lease information and that they could not sublet to <br />anyone else. <br />Councilmember Wise stated he is not interested in leasing this at all — but definitely not <br />interested in a three -year lease. <br />City Attorney Goodrich reviewed what would be included in the lease. <br />Councilmember Wise stated that the building needs to come down and wanted to make sure <br />there are no contamination issues on this site. <br />Director of Public Works Olson reported no leaks have been detected at this site. <br />Councilmember Elvig asked what the condition of the building is and verified that we have tried <br />to lease it. <br />Mr. Olson stated that we had some signage out but we didn't get any takers. One person wanted <br />to put some outside storage on that facility. He talked about the Bid -2 -Buy auction and that there <br />is equipment in this building that could be sold as well. <br />It was noted that abandoning the well is an issue. Mr. Olson added that we would need direction <br />on an easement agreement — do we provide that to Mr. Touchette? <br />Councilmember McGlone stated he is fine with getting rid of the building. If we hear that <br />Highway 10 is not going to happen, he would want to develop that corner with no one in the <br />way. He suggested getting rid of the building and the old concrete. <br />Councilmember Jeffrey stated that if that building would be gone and we do some landscaping, <br />that would look so much better. He agreed with getting rid of the building and selling out the <br />equipment. <br />Mayor Ramsey agreed, however, he would not mind a drive going back there.
