CASE #9 <br />PREPARED 1/08/91 <br /> <br />RECIPROCAL FIRE SERVICE AGREEMENT <br />CITIES OF ELK RIVER AND RAMSEY <br /> By: Dave Griffin, Fire Chief <br /> and Sandra Ashley, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On August 6, 1990 the Cities of Elk River and Ramsey entered into a <br />Reciprocal Fire Service Agreement that states, in part: <br /> <br />Upon assistance rendered during September 1, 1990 <br />through December 31, 1990 to the other party under <br />this agreement a charge for such assistance will be <br />made in the amount of $300.00 per call for assistance. <br />No charge will be made by either party for assistance <br />rendered to the other party under this agreement <br />from January 1, 1991 and thereafter. <br /> <br />A copy of the entire agreement is attached. <br /> <br />Today, January 8, 1991, the City received a letter from Mr. Russ <br />Anderson, Elk River's Fire Chief, that requests this Fire Service <br />Agreement be extended for an additional six months. <br /> <br />A copy of Mr. Anderson's letter is attached. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends Elk River's request be reviewed by the Fire Board <br />as soon as possible, and that the Fire Board make a recommendation <br />to council as to this request. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Based on discussion. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Police Chief <br />City Attorney <br /> <br /> <br />
