Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption RESOLUTION #91-05- RESOLUTION DESIGNATING METROPOLITAN LANDFILL BRUSH CHIPPER THE 50% MATCH FUNDING SOURCE FOR ABATEMENT GRANT APPLICATION FOR A WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council's FY91 Capital Assistance Grant Program was established to assist counties and municipalities in the purchase of machinery or equipment that will directly contribute to landfill abatement or detoxification of the solid waste stream throughout the metropolitan region; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Department of the City of Ramsey has identified the need for a brush chipper to contribute to landfill abatement; and WHEREAS, City Staff has been directed to submit an application for the FY91 Capital Assistance Grant Program to Metropolitan Council - Metropolitan Landfill Abatement Account for the purchase of a brush chipper; and WHEREAS, the purchase price is in the amount of Dollars ($ .00); and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey must specify a funding source for the 50% cash matching requirement; and WHEREAS, the revenue from the Landfill Tipping Fee Fund is to be expended for the purpose of mitigating and compensating for local risks, costs and other adverse effects of landfill activities, the Landfill Tipping Fee Fund is designated as the funding source for the 50% cash matching requirement. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council hereby directs the Acting City Administrator to submit the application for a Landfill Abatement Grant for the purchase of a brush chipper in the amount of $ along with a copy of this resolution to the Metropolitan Council. 2) When the City is notified of the grant award, the City Council hereby directs the Finance Officer to designate the Landfill Tipping Fee Fund - Fund Balance in the amount of for the City's 50% cash matching requirement. The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 28th day of May 1991.
