Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #91-06- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION'S <br />PUBLIC FACILITY NAMING POLICY <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ramsey has supported the development of <br />recreation facilities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City desires to name all public facilities in a consistent, timely and <br />appropriate manner; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, under this policy all proposed public facility names shall first go before the <br />Park and Recreation Commission of the City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in the case of parklands, the name shall be chosen before final plat <br />approval and will generally reflect the name of the subdivision or other significant geographical <br />feature; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, any sign bearing the name of a public facility will be in accordance with <br />City Code requirements for signs; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, facility names other than those of the subdivision that contains them will be <br />brought before City Council for approval. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Council adopts the Park and Recreation Commission's Public Facility <br />Naming Policy. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Peterson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br />the 1 lth day of June, 1991. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />City Administrator <br /> <br /> <br />
