Personnel Policy § 3.20 <br /> <br />ao <br /> <br />report as soon as possible to the employee's immediate <br />supervisor the reason for the absence; <br /> <br />keep the employee's immediate supervisor informed of <br />such employee's condition; <br /> <br />submit a medical certificate for any absence if required by <br />the administrator or department head. <br /> <br /> Sub&4. Using or claiming sick leave for a purpose not <br />authorized by Subd. 2 may be cause for disciplinary action under §3.20.18. <br /> <br /> Sub& 5. For the purpose of acc,,mulating additional vacation <br />or sick leave, an employee using earned vacation leave or sick leave is <br />considered to be working. <br /> <br />3.20.09 Military leaves. Every employee to whom Minnesota Statutes <br />§192.26 or 192.261 applies is entitled to the benefits afforded by those sections <br />subject to the conditions herein prescribed. <br /> <br />3.20.10 Parenting leave. Any regular full-time employee shall be <br />granted a parenting leave per Minnesota Statute 181.941. <br /> <br />3.20.11 Leaves without pay. The council may grant any regular <br />employee a leave of absence without pay for a period not exceeding 90 days <br />except that it may extend such leaves to a maxim,ira period of one year in <br />case the employee is disabled or where extraordinary circumstances, in its <br />judgment, warrant such extension. No vacation or sick leave benefits shaI1 <br />be banked during a leave of absence without pay and certain changes in <br />benefits may be affected. <br /> <br />3.20.12 Jury or witness duty. When an employee performs jury duty, <br />is subpoenaed or voluntarily serves as a witness in a case in which the city <br />is a party, the employee is entitled to compensation from the city equal to the <br />difference between the employee's regular pay and the amount received as <br />a juror or witness. <br /> <br />3.20.13 Rest perlo~ 9nd holiday~ <br /> <br /> Subdivisionl. Every employee, when working under <br />conditions where a break period is practicable, shall be granted a 15-minute <br />break period in each half of the employee's shift, consistent with the Fair <br />Labor Standards Act. Each immediate supervisor shall schedule rest <br />periods so as not to interfere with work requirements. <br /> <br /> Sub& 2. The following calendar days and such other days as <br />the Council may fix are paid holidays: New Year's Day, <br /> Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, <br /> Presidents' Day, <br /> <br /> <br />
