At the February 13, 1991
meeting a rough draft of City Staff's recommendations for the new sign ordinance will be
available.

The Planning and Zoning Commission, at its February 5, 1991 meeting, tentatively
scheduled a joint workshop for the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Economic
Development Commission on February 28, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. The Economic Development
Commission should have recommendations at that time concerning the sign ordinance. The
Economic Development Commission should also plan on conducting an informational
meeting with local businesses in March to gain their input on the new sign ordinance.

To prevent the over-commitment of time, it may be a good idea to have the Transportation
Sub committee represent the Economic Development Commission at the workshop. The
Transportation Sub committee will present the outcome of the workshop at the March 13,
1991 Economic Development Commission meeting. The Economic Development
Commission may then plan the informational meeting for later in March with a good idea of
what is being proposed.

Recommended Action:

Make recommendations to the Transportation Sub committee on concerns of the sign
ordinance which they may present at the joint workshop.

Review Checklist:

Project Manager
City Engineer

EDC 2/13/91
