February 20, 2014
The following are brief updates regarding development projects located within the community. For more detailed information,
please contact the Community Development Department at 763-433-9824, planning@cityoframsev.com or see this report
online at www.cityoframsev.com/DevelopmentUpdate.
Metropolitan Council Issues Revised Preliminary Growth Forecasts for Year 2040
The Metropolitan Council has issued revised Preliminary Forecasts for households, population, and employment through the
year 2040. Links to additional information can be found at www.cityoframsey.com/ComprehensivePlan.
The release of these forecasts underscores the importance to participate in the upcoming citizen engagement process
scheduled for March 20, 2014 (see item below). The City Council desires that this process be a smart, citizen -focused process
whereby community input forms our participation in the regional planning cycle, rather than reacting to these forecasts and
building a future land use map based on said forecasts. By developing a Future Land Use Map in advance of an official
response to these forecasts, the City is in a better position to develop a quality response based on resident and stakeholder
feedback.
5,906
Households
8,033
13,000
18,510
Population Employment
23,668
32,800
4,008
4,779 7,600
For more information, please contact Tim Gladhill, Development Services Manager, at 763-576-4308 or
tgladhill@cityoframsey.com.
Ramsey2040: What Will Make Ramsey Thrive as a Balanced Community?
Ramsey is home to a diverse land use and tax base. The
City desires to check in with residents and stakeholders as
we look at how the community will evolve over the next
several years. Where will opportunities for residential,
shopping, and employment exist? Where will areas remain
as they are today? How will Ramsey make connections to
these areas? How will the area around your home or
business look in the future?
Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 6:00 p.m.
Ramsey Municipal Center, Alexander Ramsey Room
For more information, please visit
www.cityoframsey.com/ComprehensivePlan or contact
Tim Gladhill, Development Services Manager, at 763-
576-4308 or tgladhill@cityoframsey.com.
nu mrniS
NV Er EnEWA
was...
