REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL <br />Professional Design Engineering Services for Mississippi Skyway Bicycle/Pedestrian Bridge <br />Project No. XXXX <br />Date of Issuance: XXXX, 2013 <br />Section 1. Introduction <br />This Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued to provide the selection process for Professional <br />Design Engineering Services for the project named above. <br />Firms submitting a response to the RFP will be asked at a minimum, to state their qualifications, <br />understanding/experience relating to the project and offer their methodology for meeting the <br />design criteria. The finalists from the RFP Phase will proceed to the Interview Phase and be <br />requested to participate in oral interviews. <br />Tentative Selection Schedule: <br />Advertise and Issue RFP XXX X, 2013 <br />Pre -Proposal Meeting 9:00 am ??? XXX, XX, 2013 <br />Deadline to Submit Questions 3:30 p.m. XX, 2013 <br />Deadline to Submit Joint Venture Forms (if applicable) XX, 2013 <br />Responses (Printed Proposals) to RFP Due 11:00 a.m. XX, 2013 <br />Notify Short Listed Firms and Schedule Interview XX, 2013 <br />Interviews XX & X, 2013 <br />Notice of Selection and Recommendation XX, 2013 <br />Complete Contract Negotiations X X, 2013 <br />Contract Execution/City Council Approval XX 2013 <br />The competitive selection process provided for under this RFP will focus on the qualifications <br />and prior history of performance on similar projects of each prime firm and the members of the <br />prime firm's proposed team, in accordance with the selection criteria set forth in this RFP. <br />Thoughtful written responses to this RFP will enable the City to select the most qualified <br />proposers. <br />Section 2. Project Description and Draft Statement of Work <br />This Project generally involves professional design engineering and related services in <br />connection with the proposed bicycle/pedestrian bridge across U.S. Hwy's #10 & #169 in <br />between the Northstar Rail Station and Mississippi West Regional Park. The City's <br />Comprehensive Plan and XXXXXXXXXXX finds this location as a major barrier and missing link <br />in the bicycle and pedestrian circulation system. This connection helps the City realize its goal <br />of providing an aesthetically pleasing bridge that is friendly to both bicyclists and pedestrians <br />and provides the connectivity mentioned above, and will facilitate additional ridership for the <br />commuter rail line, and positive economic impact within the COR and the City of Ramsey at <br />large. <br />The project is a Transit Orientated Development grant funded by Metropolitan Council in an <br />RFP 1 <br />Mississippi Skyway <br />
