What Amenities Should the City Plan For in the Future Lake Feature in The COR?
Over the past several years, the City has been refining the development plan for the area known as The COR. The COR is a
mixed -use development that is home to the Northstar Commuter Rail — Ramsey Station.
The Development Plan for The COR includes a future lake feature anticipated to include both active and passive recreational
opportunities as well as small-scale private development. The City is looking for your help in discussing potential improvements
and amenities of this area of The COR. What recreation opportunities should be studied further? What adjacent uses would help
compliment this feature? Your input is important as we begin the first stages of this small area planning and design.
Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 6:00 p.m.
Ramsey Municipal Center, Alexander Ramsey Room
For more information, please visit:
www.cityoframsey.com/LakeRamsey
Contact: Mark Riverblood, Parks and Assistant Public Works Superintendent at mriverblood@ci.ramsey.mn.us or 763-433-
9853.
Ramsey2040: What Will Make Ramsey Thrive as a Balanced Community?
Ramsey is home to a diverse land use and tax base. The City desires to check in with residents and stakeholders as we look at
how the community will evolve over the next several years. Where will opportunities for residential, shopping, and employment
exist? Where will areas remain as they are today? How will Ramsey make connections to these areas? How will the area around
your home or business look in the future?
Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 6:00 p.m.
Ramsey Municipal Center, Alexander Ramsey Room
For more information, please visit www.cityoframsey.com/ComprehensivePlan or contact Tim Gladhill, Development Services
Manager, at 763-576-4308 or tgladhill@cityoframsey.com.
Progress Report: Armstrong West
On December 12, 2013, the City hosted a citizen engagement discussion regarding the area
generally west of Armstrong Boulevard. The City gathered feedback on desirable uses and
design for future development within the retail area along Armstrong Boulevard as well as
gather feedback from property owners and neighbors regarding the potential for a portion of
this area to serve as a future business park.
The City was able to capture a great deal of feedback and better understand the synergy
between adjacent stakeholders. Staff will be presenting general feedback to the Planning
Commission in February, which is anticipated to include consideration of a few action items
to implement based on participant feedback. On February 7, the project team will be hosting Business and Stakeholder Meetings where
alternative layouts will be presented. Additionally, a Public Open House will be hosted on February 26 (TENTATIVE!) at
Greenhaven Golf Course. The project team desires to gather public input first in order to present said feedback as well as the
alternatives to the City Council in April (or later). Staff has asked that PDFs of the information presented at these two (2) public
meetings be made available prior so that the City Council and Planning Commission have the information available in case
questions or comments are raised following these public meetings.
