AFFECTED HERE ON RIVLYN AVE TO DISCUSS DETAILS - - -- MY ANALYSIS
SHOWS THAT WHILE THERE MIGHT BE A FEW DIFFERENCES THAT MAKE THE
CONCEPT OF APPLYING THE MIXED USE ZONING A BETTER CHOICE THEN THE
PRESENT 'E' ZONING ; UNTIL THERE IS EXACT LANGUAGE ADOPTED AND I CAN
SEE HOW THAT MIGHT EFFECT MY PROPERTY - MY ANSWER IS NO, RESIDENTIAL
IS BEST. (Yes, the `E' and /or 'mixed use' type of zoning might increase my property value, but
it will also decrease most of the properties contiguous to mine!!!!)
4). In regards to the statement made - in Council open discussion - that in confidence there is an
offer to purchase a property in the adjacent commercial zone and that there was an offer that was
being made to one of the properties that would be effected by this zoning item: 1 HAVE NOT
BEEN CONTACTED BY NOR RECEIVED ANY OFFER TO BUY MY PROPERTY BY
ANY INTERESTS UP TO THIS DATE -- at each and every meeting with staff and the City
Attorney prior to presenting our petition I/we asked if they knew of any such effort or project and
that if such offer was right I/we would consider it. The answer(s) was always NO, and as I said I
have not been contacted nor received any offer.
I WILL BE AT THE NEXT SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING AND THE SEPTEMBER 9th
COUNCIL MEETING so if you don't have time to write back you can talk with me then.
JACK NEWCOMB
763 - 421 - 8521
jnewcomb @ties2.net
