SCOPE OF WORK <br />The City is requesting proposals for the following engineering services related to the project. <br />1 Preparation of Contract Documents - <br />1.1 Prepare preliminary and final contract documents including, but not limited to, the following: <br />1.1.1 Horizontal alignment - Establish horizontal alignment. The horizontal alignment of existing Sunwood Drive <br />and Ramsey Boulevard are not expected to change at the locations where Center Street will tie into these <br />streets. However, minor geometric revisions may be required for the addition of turn lanes, medians, <br />drainage, and tapering from existing conditions to the proposed final design. <br />1.1.2 Vertical alignment/profile — Establish the vertical alignment for the street and develop profile. <br />1.1.3 Cross -sections - Develop cross sections for the new street construction and intersections with existing <br />streets. <br />1.1.4 Storm drainage system — Prepare drainage evaluation and develop storm sewer layouts and sizing. <br />Prepare plan and profile views, tabulations and details. The design must evaluate whether existing <br />ponding areas are adequate to serve the proposed drainage area from the project (right-of-way and future <br />proposed contributing area). <br />1.1.5 Private utilities (electric, gas, telephone, cable TV) — Develop and implement a Utility Coordination process <br />consistent with applicable state statutes and the requirements of the City. <br />1.1.6 Sanitary sewer system - Develop sanitary sewer service layouts. Prepare plan and profile views, <br />tabulations, details and specifications. <br />1.1.7 Watermain system - Develop watermain service layouts. Prepare plan and profile views, tabulations, <br />details and specifications. <br />1.1.8 Pedestrian facilities — Develop pedestrian facilities layouts, tabulations and details. <br />1.1.9 Develop signing and striping layouts, tabulations and details. <br />1.1.10 Develop a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) for the project, including temporary and <br />permanent erosion control and stormwater management systems. <br />1.1.11 Develop traffic control and construction staging layouts, plans, tabulations and details. <br />1.1.12 Determine bid items for the project, calculate estimated quantities and develop bidding schedule. <br />1.2 Prepare Project Manual including Advertisement for Bids, Information/Instructions for Bidders, Proposal/Bid Bond/ <br />Information to be submitted with Bid, Conditions of the Contract, Technical Specifications, and other applicable <br />information. <br />1.2.1 Submit to City for review and approval. <br />1.2.2 Prepare and assist the City in submitting applications for all required permits (City will pay permit application <br />fees). <br />1.2.3 Prepare preliminary and final opinions of probable construction costs. <br />1.3 Contract documents shall conform to all requirements of the City of Ramsey, Metropolitan Council, and CEAM. <br />1.4 The City of Ramsey will require 2 sets of plans and specifications for review. The number of plan sets required by the <br />Metropolitan Council will be based upon their request. All agencies will require 1 set of final signed documents in hard <br />copy format, and the City of Ramsey requires all final approved construction documents in AutoCAD format. <br />2 Biddina Administration - <br />2.1 Prepare advertisement for bids and assist City in distributing to required publications. City will pay advertisement fees. <br />2.2 Distribute bid documents upon request from prospective bidders and material suppliers and maintain plan holders list. <br />2.3 Upload bidding documents to QuestCDN website and maintain current plan holders list. <br />2.4 Answer questions from bidders and plan holders during the bidding period. <br />Page 2 <br />
