May 29, 2014 The following are brief updates regarding development projects located within the community. Tentative Cases for the June 5, 2014 Planning Commission Meeting The Planning Commission will meet on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Tentative cases for consideration include the following 1. Consider Variance to Driveway Setbacks 2. Consider Variance to Minimum Lot Width and Sketch Plan Review to Reconfigure Existing Lot Lines; Case of Trilogy Homes a. Note: No additional buildable lots are being created at this time. 3. PUBLIC HEARING: Consider Preliminary Plat Approval of Country Club Hills, an 88-lot Major Subdivision; Case of Greatland Homes a. Note: Country Club Hills was formerly known as Sweetbay Ridge Phases II and III as originally proposed with the original Sweetbay Ridge plat 4. Consider Sketch Plan Review of Rabbit Meadows, a Three Lot Minor Subdivision From 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers Lobby, Staff will also be hosting an Open House related to Country Club Hills and the Trilogy Homes plat as an additional opportunity for input and clarification prior to the Public Hearing. Tentative Schedule for June and July Planning Commission Meetings Due to the Independence Day Holiday and current workload, Staff is working on a revised Planning Commission schedule for the months of June and July. The June 5, 2014 Planning Commission Meeting will be held as regularly scheduled. In addition, an additional June Planning Commission Meeting has been tentatively scheduled for Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in order to keep several projects and potential land use applications on schedule. Finally, the July Planning Commission has been tentatively re -scheduled for Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Department of Labor and Industry Issues Notification for Rulemaking on Minnesota Building Code The Department of Labor and Industry has issued a Notification of Rulemaking as part of the on -going, phased update to Minnesota Building Code. The notice is specific to International Mechanical Code and International Fuel Gas Code, found in Minnesota Rules Chapter 1346. Staff will forward an update to the Planning Commission and City Council if necessary. Metropolitan Council Issues 2013 Household and Population Estimates On May 9, 2014, the Metropolitan Council issued updated population and household estimates. These estimates are through April 1. 2013. Total Households (Occupied) = 8,367 Total Population = 24,306 Average Household Size = 2.90 Attached to the Weekly Update is the full report from the Metropolitan Council.
