This determination 1 Formatted: Font: Arial, 14 pt 1 <br />will be made on a case -by -case basis. The maiority of position vacancies will be filled through an <br />open recruitment process. Position vacancies may be filled on an "acting" basis as needed. <br />Application for employment will generally be made on application forms provided by the City. <br />Other materials in lieu of a formal application may be accepted in certain recruitment situations as <br />determined by the City Administrator or designee. Supplemental auestionnaires may be required <br />in certain situations. All candidates must complete and submit the reauired application materials <br />by the posted deadline, in order to be considered for the position. The deadline for application <br />may be extended by the City Administrator. Unsolicited applications will not be kept on file. <br />3.3 Testing and Examinations <br />Applicant Qualifications will be evaluated in one or more of the following ways: training and <br />experience rating: written test: oral test or interview: performance or demonstrative test: physical <br />agility test, or other appropriate iob-related exam. <br />Internal recruitments will be open to any City employee who: (1) has successfully completed the <br />initial training period; (2) meets the minimum Qualifications for the vacant position: and (3) <br />currently is and for the past year has been in good standing with the City. <br />The City Council or designee will establish minimum Qualifications for each position with input <br />from the appropriate supervisor. To be eligible to participate in the selection process a candidate <br />must meet the minimum Qualifications. <br />3.4 Pre -Employment Medical Exams <br />The City Administrator or designee may determine that a pre -employment medical examination, <br />which may include a psychological evaluation, is necessary to determine fitness to perform the <br />essential functions of any City position. Where a medical examination is reauired, an offer of <br />employment is contingent upon successful completion of the medical exam. <br />19IPage <br />
