Council oonsensus is that the duration of the permit be 2 years. Council <br />consensus is that the applicant make maximun use of existing screening in the <br />area. Council consensus is that the applicant take necessary action to prevent <br />illegal access to the property. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />approve of Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc. 's temporary conditional use <br />permit based on the findings of fact previously adopted. Ramsey will have 10 minutes to make a presentation and it will <br />include a brief history of the landfill in Ramsey and a summary of Iqamsey <br />proposed legislation. <br /> <br />Council consensus is that Ramsey's presentation should include that Ramsey does <br />not want expansion of the existing landfill site. <br /> <br />Councilmember COx stated that Ramsey should also be requesting that a method be <br />established for compensating a community having problems created by an RDF <br />facility in a neighboring community. <br /> <br />~ Sitina Haarina For Anoka County's._ Rasourc~..~eceov~rv Plant: <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that Anoka County selected NSP as the vendor and NSP wants <br />to locate in Elk River. On November 19, 1985 the County will conduct a public <br />hearing on which site to select in the County; Ramsey is on the siting list. <br />In addition, the County needs to select a transfer site. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Schlueter and seconded by Mayor Heitman to adopt <br />Resolution #85-219 stating that there should be no RDF siting or transfer <br />station siting within the City of Ramsey and to authorize City Staff to present <br />this resolution at the Anoka County public hearing scheduled for November 19, <br />1985. (Please refer to resolution file for Resolution #85-219). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter.
