Mr. Goodrich stated that Councilmenber Cox has requested that it be noted for <br />the record that he is not in attendance at this meeting because of the manner <br />in which the position was advertised; in his opinion the ad discouraged members <br />of private industry from applying. <br /> <br />Council consensus is that the City Administrator will be expected to attend all <br />Council meetings and meeting attendance will not accrue towards the 40 hour <br />work week. <br /> <br />Council consensus was to offer the following package for the position of City <br />Administrator: <br /> <br />1. Initial salary of $37,000.00 <br /> <br />2. A Step Program for a total of $4,000.00 in salary increases. <br /> <br />Annual cost of living increases to current salary commensurate with <br />the current cost of living index with January 1, 1986 serving as the <br />base month. <br /> <br />4. Probationary Period: <br /> <br />a. Six months. <br />b. Not entitled to vacation leave. <br /> <br />5. Travel: <br /> <br />a. Approval by City Administrator or for the Administrator by the <br /> Mayor. <br /> <br />b. Mileage at $.20/mile or actual expenses for using City car. <br />c. Meals as required. <br /> <br />6. Closing Due To Adverse Conditions: <br /> <br />a. Employee will not be paid. <br />b. Employee may use vacation. <br /> <br />7. Personal Time: <br /> <br />a. To be addressed in contract. <br /> <br />8. Step Program: <br /> <br />A step program has been used for new employees in the past. ~he <br />step has a beginning and ending salary. ~he ending salary is <br />reached in six month steps with the last step after 30 months of <br />service (2.5 years). ~he step program will be used to allow for <br />a six month probationary period.
