Councilmember Schlueter - Naye <br />Councilme~ber Reimann - Aye <br />Mayor Heitman- Naye <br />Councilm~mber Cox - Aye <br />Councilmember Sorteberg - Aye <br /> <br />Amendment carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman called for a roll call vote to the motion: <br /> <br />Councilm~mber Schlueter - Aye <br />Councilm~mber Reimann- Naye <br />Mayor Heitman - Aye <br />Councilm~mber COx - Naye <br />Councilmember Sorteberg - Naye <br /> <br />Motion failed. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 7:45 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman called the Council meeting back to order at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich stated that Councilmembers COx, Sorteberg and Reimann were <br />reluctant to vote on an employment proposal that did not address salary at the <br />same time; Councilmember Cox has suggested a salary package with a beginning <br />salary of $37,000, as was originally offered and a larger salary increase after <br />the first six months which would give Council a chance to see how Mr. Hartley <br />performs and in the end would bring Mr. Hartley's salary in range of what he <br />was proposing in his oounter offer. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to offer <br />the following employment propospal to Mr. David Hartley. Further, that if Mr. <br />Hartley does not accept said employment proposal, the City will re-advertise <br />for the position immediately in the same manner as previously advertised <br />and in a way that will not exclude the private sector from applying. <br /> <br />1) Position: City Administrator. <br /> <br />2) Effective Date: February 1, 1986. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />Terms of Employment: Employee shall be retained as City Administrator <br />of the City of Ramsey for a 3 year period and may continue employment <br />indefinitely, as mutually agreed to by the Employee and the Employer <br />for 1 year periods. <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />Termination by Employer: ~he Employer may terminate the Employee by <br />certified or registered mail, return receipt requested. In the event <br />of such termination while Employee is ready, willing and able to <br />perform the duties of City Administrator, the Employer shall pay <br />Employee a sum equal to the compensation for 30 calendar days. <br /> <br />5) Termination by Employee: Employee may terminate his employment with <br /> December 17, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 5 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
