Park. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mayor Heit~an stated that he is reluctant to make a <br />decision ~til a recommendation is received from Park and Recreation <br />Co~ission. Councilm~mber Cox stated that he doesn't think the Park Commission <br />is keeping up to date on things; they must not even knc~ that there is a City <br />newsletter because they didn't know who has been donating labor and equipment <br />at River's Bend Park and that was all published in the newsletter. <br />Councilm~mbr COx stated that this Council will have to be responsible and make <br />a decision. Mayor Heitman pointed out that Council has already been accused of <br />not taking the recommendations of other City co~missions. Mayor Heitman stated <br />that he is not opposed to the development of River's Bend Park but he would <br />prefer to take action after a recommendation has been received frc~ Park and <br />Recreation (km~ission. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilm~mbers Sorteberg, COx and Reimann. <br />Voting No: Mayor Heitman and Councilm~mber Schlueter. <br /> <br />c) Letter Dated June 13. 1985 From Chief Accountant Haapa~a Regarding <br /> Counoilmember Cox's Request For Check Authorization O~ June 13. 1985 - <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman stated that during this evenings Oouncil recess he was provided <br />with a oopy of a letter from Chief Accountant Haapala dated June 13, 1985. <br />That letter outlines the course of events on June 13 when Councilmember Cox <br />approached Staff for a check authorization to purchase a boat and trailer to be <br />raffled at the Cxmm~unity Park Festival. The letter also has a handwritten <br />notation on it that says a check was issued and Councilmenber COx directed Mr. <br />Bob Muller to return it to City Hall; this conflicts with Councilm~mber Cox's <br />earlier statements made during Citizen Input regarding his never having <br />received a check for the boat and trailr. Mayor Heitman requested that the <br />letter be entered into the record. (See Attachment I). <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmenber Reimann and seconded by Mayor Heitman to adjourn this <br />regular meeting of the City Council. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilme~ber COx referred to It~ (c) under Mayor/Council <br />Input and denied that he ever told Mr. Muller to return the check to City Hall. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilme~bers Cox, Sorteberg, <br />Reimann and Schlueter.
