Mayor and Members of the City Council
Page -2-
August 25, 1987

definite financing lined up to finance the airport or to
finance any of the additional property (including our store)
which the City is going to have to acquire if the proposed
plan does go through.

From our viewpoint, this whole situation is both worrisome
and alarming. We are faced with the loss of an established
and profitable store if the City's plan for the acquisition
of the airport and the additional runway space goes through.
What is also troubling is that there are no projections or
any other supportive figures showing what revenues would be
derived from the acquisition and expansion of an airport in
Ramsey to fund and finance this project. We would hope the
City would reconsider the acquisition of the airport and its
proposed expansion until a further, more in-depth study can
be made.

As things now stand, Tom Thumb Food Markets, Inc. is totally
opposed to the acquisition of the airport and the enactment
of the airport zoning ordinance.

Very truly yours,

Wallace R. Pettit, President
Tom Thumb Food Markets, Inc.

WRP:ksj
