Mr. Goodrich stated that legally, Mr. Buchanan's scenario could happen, but <br />not practically. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich sited 3 options to Council: 1) Adopt the airport safety <br />zoning ordinance; 2) Table the advisory election until all the information <br />is gathered in accordance with the Airport Commission recommendation; 3) <br />Initiate an advisory election. <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca noted that there should be airport zoning in place for <br />the airport that exists, whether it is improved or not and sited a 4th <br />option open to Council: adopt the zoning ordinance and schedule an <br />advisory election for the second quarter of 1988 on the question of whether <br />the city should improve and acquire the airport. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br />table a decision regarding the Airport Commission's recommendation <br />regarding timing and/or action relating to the establishment of airport <br />safety zoming until the special City Council meeting scheduled for October <br />13 in order that concerned residents can become aware of pending action. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 9:20 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann called the meeting back to order at 9:36 p.m. <br /> <br />Case #7: Status Of Ice Rink Flooding For. 1 ~8.7/1 988 ~ <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that Ramsey purchased a tanker truck early this year <br />which was intended to be modified for multiple functions, including <br />flooding rinks; the City owns another tanker that is quickly deteriorating. <br />Mr. Hartley stated that in order to provide ice rink grooming for 1987/88, <br />the city should proceed to modify the new tanker. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley had no current cost figures for retrofitting the tanker <br />available but noted bids earlier this year were in the area of $7000. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to table <br />consideration of retrofitting the tanker truck for multiple purposes until <br />s om e ¢ u r r e n t c o s t i n f o r m a t i o n i s a v a i 1 a b 1 e . <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilmember Cox stated that when this case comes <br />back to Council there should also be information available regarding why <br />the various fittings are necessary and gravity won't release the water. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
