Staff will be meeting with Anoka MnDOT maintenance station to discuss whether it would <br />be possible for their maintenance crew to make the addition. <br /> <br />Motion to direct Staff to continue discussion with MnDOT to improve the intersection of T.H. #47 and <br />157th Lane and if MnDOT is not willing to pay to expand the roadway the Committee recommended that <br />the City pay for that cost. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Case #4 <br /> <br />Update on Park N Ride Facility <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Last month a discussion was held regarding the vision of the parking structures within the Town Center <br />and how that related to the Park and Ride facility that the City is considering. On December 12, 2003 <br />Staff held a meeting with a consultant that specializes in conversion of Park and Rides to parking <br />structure for multiple uses. Mr. Jim Lasher with LSA Design was recommended to the City from Anoka <br />County Highway Department. <br /> <br />A presentation from Mr. Lasher was given at the meeting outlining his expertise in this area and a <br />motion was made to recommend that the City Council authorize the hiring of Jim Lasher from LSA <br />Design to determine the ultimate use of the Park and Ride facility for a not to exceed amount of $35,000 <br />and to authorize Staff to prepare a reimbursement resolution. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee and pass the attached reimbursement <br />resolution. <br /> <br />Case #5 <br /> <br />Comprehensive Sewer and Water Plans Update <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Last summer, City Council directed Staff to hire Bolten and Menk to revise our Comprehensive Sewer <br />and Water Plans. Mr. Bob Brown, Bolten & Menk was present to explain the City's water system. Mr. <br />Brown reviewed the proposed location of the three new wells noting that no additional wells can be <br />developed until potential regional impacts of continued use of wells on the aquifer are addressed. The <br />City will be required to monitor the impact on local aquifers as well as assess viability of surface water <br />supply. Staff also presented the progress that has been made with the update to the 1991 Comprehensive <br />Sewer Plan. Many discussion have been held with the Metropolitan Council regarding capacity issued <br />and explained the process that we intend on pursuing to acquire more allocated capacity from the <br />Metropolitan Council. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />No action necessary. <br /> <br /> <br />
