Mr. Hartley
stated that. Altron has not signed the preliminary development agreement nor
deposited funds with the City to pay for preparation of plans for the site
improvements. Mr. Hartley stated that the City's participation in the
project will be suspended until Altron provides funds to pay for
engineering costs.

Case #4: ~elocation Of Burlington Northern Railroad Tr~ck~;,

Mr. Hartley stated that he has received no further comments, since the May
19, 1988 meeting with affected property owners, regarding the possibility
of relocating the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks.

Mayor Reimann stated that he feels the costs involved in relocating the
tracks makes the project prohibitive.

Councilmember Cox was of the opinion that the cost to relocate the tracks
is minor compared to the safety and economic benefits that would be gained;
that the corridor should at least be established in the event the project
becomes a reality in the future.

Councilmember Pearson stated that he feels the costs and the high water
table in the proposed relocation area make the project unfeasible.

Councilmember DeLuca stated that the corridor should be established; even
if the City has to incur the cost of right-of-way, the project may be in
the best interest of the City; there would have to be outside funding
involved in the project.

Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Cox directing
City Council/July 12, 1988
