Councilmember DeLuca stated that he is in favor of <br />considering adoption of this ordinance after the 1st of January when there <br />is a full Council again. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg and <br />Pearson° V o t i n g N o : C o u n c i 1 m e m b e r D e L u c a . <br /> <br />Case ~12: ~ity Of Ramsey Computer System: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that the objectives in improving the computer system at <br />City Hall are as follows: a) acquire stand-alone word processors so as <br />not to cause slow downs in the rest of the computer system; b) fill the <br />need to utilize the software prepared by Computoservices which results in a <br />need for a xenix operating system; c) provide all with access to <br />information in the accounting system; d) be able to use the printers and <br />maximum storage facilities by all of the units. The proposed system design <br />will accomplish all of the above and provide the maximum amount of <br />flexibility for the city in the future. The estimated cost for these <br />improvements is $100,000 and is proposed to be funded through the <br />Administrative Trust Fund. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca <br />authorizing the City Administrator to purchase hardware and software as <br />specified from Computoservice, Inc. and to solicit proposals for the <br />hardware and software which is specified to be provided by others for the <br />City of Ramsey Computer System at a total cost not to exceed $100,000.00. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Hartley noted that these computer improvements <br />should last 5 to 8 years; the city is going to be continuously funding <br />software development. Councilmember DeLuca that it is typical to update <br />computer systems every 4 years; not doing so results in losing money. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #9: Approve Election Jud_~es: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br />approve the list of election judges as submitted. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #10: Waste Management Of Blaine. Inc. Recycliny Cpn~act: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember $orteberg and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to <br />authorize the Mayor and City Administrator to execute the contract between <br />Waste Management of Blaine, Inc. on behalf of the City of Ramsey, which <br />contract relates to recycling services for the Pilot Recycling Project <br />within the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />City Council/August 15, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 8 of 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
