Case__~ R~port From Fire Board: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartl~y stated that the Fire Board is requesting Council action to <br />appoint a :Fire Chief and award bids for certain equipment. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Bawden and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />appoint Mr.. Bruce Hoeke as Fire Chief for the City of Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />DeLuca, Pearson and Bawden. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley Btated that the City received two bids for the pumper. In the <br />opinion ofl the Fire Department Vehicle Committee, there were many items <br />that were not included in the bid received from Fire Safety Products, Inc. <br />(see Attachment A) and therefore they recommend awarding the bid to General <br />Safety PrOducts, Inc. The Committee also recommends ordering the equipment <br />with a Jac~obs engine brake. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Bawden to <br />adopt Resolution #88-243 receiving bids and awarding bid to General Safety <br />Products, !nc~ for a 1,000 gallon fire pumper in the amount of $148,645.000 <br />and an additional $1,950.00 for a Jacobs engine brake. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />DeLuca, Pearson and Bawdeno Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that the City received two bids for the tanker. Again, <br />the Fire D~partment Vehicle Committee feels that there are too many items <br />that were ~ot included in the bid received from Fire Safety Products (see <br />Attachment B) and recommends awarding the bid to General Safety <br />Products. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson and seconded by Councilmember Bawden to <br />adopt Resolution #88-244 receiving bids and awarding bid to General Safety <br />Products, Inc. for 1,850 gallon fire tanker in the amount of $109,325.00. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />DeLuca, Pearson and Bawden. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that the Fire Department Vehicle Committee recommends <br />awarding the bid for a slide-in unit to Fire Safety Products, Inc. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Bawden and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to <br />adopt Resolution #88-245 receiving bids and awarding bid to Fire Safety <br />Products, Inc. for a slide-in unit in the amount of $8,890.00. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, <br />DeLuca, Pear, on and Bawden.
