ENERGY <br /> <br />E.1 - Reduce emissions and increase energy efficiency through use of alternative fuels, innovative <br />transportation programs (e.g. bicycle commuter corridors) and technologies. <br /> <br />E,2 - Develop and implement energy efficiencies that address all phases of energy use and waste <br />generation from production through disposal (e.g, fluorescent ligl3t bulbs),' Note: the goal is to reduce <br />energy use and increase-efficiency without shifting the environmental burden, <br /> <br />E,3. (R)' -. <br /> <br />IE.3 - Encourage interest in science and math through new or modified environmental education . . <br />programs, in order to meet projected demands for environmental professionals with an inclusion of <br />measured outcomes. · <br /> <br />IE.4 - Incorporate environmental topics into.preparatory professi°r~al training and 'education; highlighting <br />linkages between the professional fields and environmental concerns (e.g. MBA' programs,..vocational - <br />and trade schools, engineering programs). <br /> <br />IE.5- Establish environmental education delivery syStems for local governme'n't officials (e.g, county.. <br />board, SWCD, township and municipal officials) to aid local officials in making environmentally sound <br />decisions.
