COUNCIL [BusINESS Case #1: !Report from Personnel Committee Personnel CoOrdinator McAloney reported that the Personnel Committee met on June 25, 1991 and reviewed and ~ecommended approval of the position analysis for the City Administrator. The new organization !Chart for the City of Ramsey was reviewed. The minor changes made will be reviewed ovg th~ next few months. The Work Rules were reviewed by City Administrator and City Staff until;thc Committee recommended approval of them. Approval was recommended for the Personnel Policy after a minor amendment in the Education Policy. The Personnel Committee reviewed the/'ncmorandum by the City Administrator and agreed with Mr. Schroeder's suggestion to formalize ah "Acting" Positions policy with an informational memo. This will be presented at an upcoming Co~.fnmittee meeting. Motion by ¢ouncilmember Peterson and seconded by Mayor Gilbertson to approve the recommendations of the Personnel Committee accepting the position analysis for the City Administratoi', the proposed Organizational Chart, the City of Ramsey Work Rules and the introduction c~f th~ Ordinance amending the Personnel Policy of the City Code. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Peterson, Beyer and Hardin. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Cich. Case #2: Small Business Administration Community Tree Planting Grant APplication Bruce Ba¢°n~ Environmental Specialist, stated that the City has a small budget for tree planting. He has discovered there is a grant available that would enable the City to double the scale of its planting plak. The grant would cover the cost of the trees and tree spade work by a local landscaper. The City's matching contribution would be reflected in the time consumed for planting the trees and ~ubsequent maintenance over a three year per/od. The grant money will be availabl[ late August Which would enable the Council and Budget Committee enough time to review the budget to determine ff there will be money available to match the grant funds. Motion by Mayor Gilbertson and seconded by Councilmember Bever to approve the submittal of the Small Bu'~ineSs Administration Community Tree Planting Gr~nt application and to have the Budget Corra~ittee review this issue to determine if there will be money available in the budget for the C~ty s share of th~s grant.
