We have no specific floodplain concerns.

Provisions should be made to
sedimentation during construction.

minimize erosion and

Any work below the ordinary high water (OHW) elevation of
state protected wetland 2-114p, including stormwater outfalls,
require DNR permits. The OHW is 858.1' as shown on the plans.

The platting of Sunfish Lake Drive into wetland 2-114p may be
a bit premature since no DNR permits have been issued or
applied for. Please keep in mind that permits for road fill'
can only be issued when the public need rules out the no -
build alternative and when there are no other practical or
reasonable alternatives with less environmental damage. In a
12/10/90 letter to Pete Raatikka, I discussed our concerns
about this road alignment.

Other a~encies that may have concerns or regulatory
authority are the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the
Lower Rum River Watershed Management Organization.

Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
any questions.

Please call if you have

Sincerely.,
Tom Hove~~
Area Hydrologist

cc: wetland file 2-114p

Lower Rum River WMO

AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
