Horton Homes . <br /> Presentation <br /> <br /> Assistant Con~unity Development Director Trudgeon advised Staff has received architectUral <br /> elevations and floor plans for the units. The development' is propOsing two different attached' <br /> housing styles, He stated both styles will have exterior materials comprised of three different <br /> types of vinyll, siding, with one style a 'shaker' style:~tb provide some variety and textUre. · He <br /> indicated the Dev.eloper has indicated they will utili;ze three to four color schemes of white, <br /> medium gray, ~and and clay, with the fascia being either white or a dark color. He indicated the <br /> Developer hasl;also indicated they will be utilizing accents .of green and .terra cotta around certain <br /> architectural ;features as well as on the doors and porches. He .stated there will be masonry below <br /> the window gills on the first floor. The roof will be comprised of asphalt shingles of a <br /> complementary color. He advised the units themselves will have a variety of architectUral <br /> features, including bay windows, second story porches, articulated Walls and different roof styles. <br /> Assistant Community Development Director .Trudgeon explained ;' Staff has reviewed the <br /> information p~bvided and .finds them generallY~acceptable He stated the distinct architectUral <br /> features will a~ldress Staff's original ;concern about seeing a 'wall of units'. He indicated these <br /> features break iup the units as viewed from the street to bring about a pleasing visual aesthetic. <br /> Staff would like to point out that as the Town Center continues to develop in futUre phases, the <br /> City would lik~ .t9 ~ee additional colors to ~be used for the exterior besides the neutral earth tones <br /> that are so .~_'~ai.~ln other town home developments within the City. <br /> <br />Assistant :Comtnunfty DeVelopment Director Trudgeon further advised the landscaping plan is <br />generally acceptable s~ubject to swapping some of the deciduous trees for coniferous trees and <br />relocating somle of the[ Si~-ubs closer to the back-to-back units. He stated the City is requiring a <br />....sign plan s ~.~h~.' Wjng,,[c~l address,_ street,, and traffic, control signs in order to ensure an orderly look <br />mr me oevet0J~_~t~t. He noted the Police Department wants address range signs installed, <br />therefore Staf~jnts to review the entire sign plan to make sure it looks good. Staff <br />recommends al~pr3~al ~of the request. <br />Chairpers¢n N~t asked h~w they could assure they get some variation in color for aesthetics. <br /> <br />Assistant C~inmunity Development Director Trudgeon stated the Developer has outlined what <br />colors they ~iil use for this development. He indicated those comments were more about <br />assuring vad~ibn in future development. ~ - <br />Commissmn~ ~Van'Scoy stated Case #9 deals with the architectUral standards for medium and <br />high density d~velopments.
