CASE RECEIVE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDER BIDS FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 03-28 145th LANE/146th AVENUE SIDEWALK PROJECT By Steven Jankowski: City Engineer Background: You may r~cal[ that last year a trail had been proposed along the southern border of The Village of Sunfish Lake as an element of the improvements associated with that new subdivision. DUring the approval process for this subdivision residents adjacent to this proposed trail slated their opposition to a trial adjoining their backyards, and it was determine~ that a sidewalk would be installed in fi:ont of their homes instead (along the north side ~f 145th Lane). In addition, a sidewalk will be installed along the north side of 146tl~ Ave~te in the Village of Sunfish Lake. It will be necessary to place sidewalk past th nd three exiStihg homes on the north side of 146 Avenue in the Chestnut Hill 2 Addition to connect lhe Village of Sunfish Lake sidewalk to the existing sidewalk on Potassium Street. The City COunoil authorized this project on July 8, 2003 with funding to be provided from the ¢i!y trail fund. The estimated construction cost of the project is $75,000. The project is anticipated to start on or about April 15th and be completed around June 1st. Recommendation: In order to proceed with this project, staff recommends that council adopt the attached resolution Which approves the plans and specifications and authorizes the solicitation of bids for thi~ project. : Action: ' Motion to ~opl~ resolution 04-02-XXX approving plans and specifications and authorizes th the solicita~on 0fbids for Improvement Project 03-23, 145th Lane/146 Avenue Sidewalk project.
