Staff recommends the <br />Council authorize the change to US Link for local and long distance phone service. <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig indicated the Finance Committee agreed with the position of staff. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Strommen to adopt Resolution <br />#04-02-050 authorizing staff to enter into an agreement with US Link for local and long distance <br />phone service for the City of Ramsey facilities. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Strommen, Cook, Elvig, <br />Kurak, Pearson and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />2) Approve Renewal for Property/Casualty and Workers Compensation <br /> Insurance <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig reported staff looked at different options for the renewal of the <br />property/casualty and workers compensation insurance based on a previous work session. Staff <br />recommends holding with the current deductible, as there would be more risk by taking out a <br />lower premium. The Finance Committee agreed with the recommendation of staff. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman inquired about the current deductible. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson replied it is a $10,000/$20,000/$1,000 deductible. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig and seconded by Councilmember Strommen to adopt <br />Resolution #04-02-051 approving a renewal for property/casualty and workers compensation <br />insurance. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Strommen, Cook, Kurak, <br />Pearson and Zimmerman. <br /> <br />3) Consider Financing for Ramsey Town Center Regional Improvements <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig reported Ralph McGinley, a representative of the Oppenheimer Group, <br />presented information to the Finance Committee regarding financing opportunities for regional <br />road improvements. Mr. McGinley outlined an interesting bonding opportunity. The Finance <br />Committee directed staff to move forward and work on the Joint Powers Agreement with the <br />County and bring it back to the Council at a later date. <br /> <br />Counciimember Strommen inquired how the City would be paying for its portion of the road <br />improvements, as it had not been determined if there would be a developer contribution for this. <br /> <br />City Council/February 24, 2004 <br /> Page 6 of 31 <br /> <br /> <br />
