9.12.08 BUSINESS TYPE DISTRICTS <br /> <br />Subd. 1 Business Use Signs <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Wail, Canopy or Marquee Sign. Total sign area may be up to fifteen percent (15%) of the <br />front building facade. At least fifty percent (50%) of the signage area must be placed on the <br />measured wail with remaining signage area, if desired, distributed on any other wall or <br />walls. Sign height shall not exceed the top of the parapet wall or, if no parapet wall, sign <br />height shall not exceed height of eaves. A permit and fee is required. <br /> <br />c) <br /> <br />Ground Sign. There shall not be more than one ground sign for each parcel. The gross <br />surface area of a ground sign shall not exceed one hundred square feet for each exposed <br />face nor exceed an aggregate gross surface area of two hundred square feet. A ground sign <br />may be located in any required yard but shall not extend over any lot line or within fifteen <br />feet of any point of vehicular access from a zoning lot to a public roadway. A ground sign <br />shall not project higher than twenty-five feet as measured from base of sign or grade of the <br />nearest adjacent roadway, whichever is lower. <br /> <br />d) <br /> <br />Menu Board. One on premise menu board per drive-up or walk-up lane of a drive-in <br />restaurant up to a maximum of thirty-two (32) square feet each. Menu boards are allowed a <br />message on one side only and cannot contain an advertising message. <br /> <br />e) Directional Signs. <br /> <br />Directional or Instructional signs are restricted to on-site direction and <br />instruction and shall not exceed four square feet. Such signs shall only <br />provide direction or instruction to guide persons to facilities intended to <br />serve the public. <br /> <br />Parking lot directional signs designating parking area entrances and exits are <br />limited to one sign for each entrance and/or exit and shall not exceed four <br />square feet for each exposed face. Parking lot directional signs shall not <br />project higher than five (5) feet in height, as measured from the established <br />grade of the parking area to which such signs are accessory. <br /> <br />~ubd. <br /> <br />Parking lot instructional signs designating the conditions of use or identify <br />of parking areas shall not exceed 8 square feet and shall not project higher <br />than 10 feet in height for wall signs and 7 feet in height for ground signs, as <br />measured from the established grade of the parking area(s) to which such <br />signs are accessory <br /> <br />2 Shopping Center Signs <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Area Identification: One ground sign or one wall sign may be erected for the purpose of <br />identifying a shopping center, subject to the following: <br /> <br />Sign Ord.
