Ken Crow - 7350 151st Avenue NW - Has this study revealed how much
tax revenue Will be drawn in because of the airport?

Chairman Ipp~l replied that the study has just gotten under way
and that information has not been determined yet.

Louis Abendroth - 15810 Sodium St - Can you determine that residents
will benefitl from the airport because of taxes and revenues brought
into the ~ity? If the City turns the Airport over to the Metro
Airport Comm£ssion, there's no saying what they will do with it.
Once the airport is in, it could grow like cancer.

Resident - 16413 Jasper - What kind of tax revenue have
the 3 businesses that settled here because of the. airport brought
into the community?

Ken wagner - How many of the Commission members are pilots?

Commission replied that five of the members are pilots -- 4 are
currently~ licensed.

Commissioner Siebert stated that he lives in the area of the airport
traffic p~ttern and if the airport would not have an economic impact
on the City, he wouldn't want to see the airport here either.

Ken Wagner - Commissioner Siebert could have use for the airport and
sees it differently than someone who will never use it.

Commissioner Greenberg stated he is currently not a licensed pilot
and his interest is towards economic development of the community.

Chairman Ippel stated that he is a licensed pilot but has minimal
involvement with flying and it makes no difference to him if he
has to d~ve~ to Crystal to do some flying. Chairman Ippel stated
that he is interested in the impact of economic development that
an airport could bring to the City; he is a resident of Ramsey
first andl a Pilot away from that.

Brenda Bauerkemper - Of the 40 businesses that did respond, how
many said they did have planes and would base them at Gateway?

Mr. Koshak stated that the surveys have not been completely compiled
and could!not give an exact number at this time.

Commission recessed at 9:25 p.m.

Chairman Ippel called the public meeting back to order at 9:37 p.m.

Ken Wagner - Who owns the airport now? I am sure the current
owners would, benefit if the City took the airport over.

Commissioner Greenberg stated that the airport is owned by the
Anoka Industrial Park which consists of 26 shareholders and he is
one of those shareholders. Commissioner Greenberg stated that
he brought the 'conflict of interest' issue up when he was appointed
to the ~i~port Commission and that is why he refrains from voting
when there is conflict of interest.

AP/May 16, 1984
Public Meeting
