Motion carried~ Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Elvig, Strommen, Pearson, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Cook and Kurak. Case #4: RepOrt from Public Works The Public works Committee met on January 20, 2004, to discuss the following cases: 1) 2004 SWeet!Maintenance Program The Public Wprks Committee directed staff to research how other cities handle projects that include townhomes, present some alternative assessment possibilities, and make some recommendations oh policy changes. 2) Consider E~tablishing a Vision Clearance Triangle into City Code The Public Works Committee tabled action for further information until the next Public Works Committee meeting. 3) Report:on Shoulder Improvements to T.H. #47 and 157th Lane The Public Wbrksl Committee recommended that the City Council direct staff to continue discussions with MnDOT to improve the intersection of T.H. #47 and 157th Lane and ifMnDOT is not willing t° pay to expand the roadway the Committee recommended that the City pay for that cost. It was noted that staff could complete the work for a maximum cost of $2,000. Mayor Gamec stated that there seems to be a problem with the striping on T.H. #47 at 156th Lane. Director of Pubiic Works/Fire Chief Kapler noted that staff will be contacting MnDOT regarding a couple of issues at that intersection. 4) Update on park N Ride Facility A presentation ?rom Mr. Lasher was given at the meeting outlining his expertise in the area of parking structures :and the Public Works Committee recommended that the City Council authorize the hiring of Jim Lasher from LSA Design to determine the ultimate use of the Park and Ride facility for a not to exceed amount of $35,000 and directed staff to prepare a reimbursement resolution. Mayor Gamec questioned as to when they expected the open the Park N Ride facility. City Administrator Norman replied that they are looking at the fall of this year. Finance Officer~ Lund noted that the reimbursement resolution is in the case tonight for adoption. Motion by Coupcil ~member Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Elvig to adopt Resolution #04-01-019 establishing procedures relating to compliance with reimbursement bond regulations under the internal revenue code.
