Councilmember <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #92-02- ~t~~ ~/~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION P~ROCLAIMING THE WEEK OF MARCH 8 - 14, 1992 AS GIRL <br />SCOUT WEE~K <br /> WHER[EA~, on March 12, 1992 Girl Scouts of the USA celebrates 80 years of helping <br />girls grow into Confident and resourceful adults; and <br /> <br /> WHEI~EA$, Girl Scouts of the USA, three million members strong, is the <br /> largest <br />nonprofit orgamzau0nJ - for girls in the world; and <br /> WHEREAS~ The Greater Minneapolis Girl Scout Council coordinates activities for more <br />than ';3,000 girl~; in'~in eight-county area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Girl Scouting reaches out to girls of diverse culture heritage, including <br />Asian, Hispanic, African-American and Native American; and <br /> <br /> WHEREASi Girl Scouting provides an environment where girls can enjoy nature, learn <br />to work together, anti,gain leadership skills; and <br /> <br /> WltEREA$~ Girl Scouting helps girls gain the self-esteem to make the fight choices in <br />their personal lives and in their careers; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS,:Girl Scouting helps girls to become outstanding citizens of our community. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY,I ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) The City Of Ramsey City Council hereby proclaims the week of March 8 - 14, 1992 as Girl <br /> Scout week.. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the folloWingiabstained: <br /> <br />and the following :were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Rarnsey City Council this <br />the day of ..... ~ , 1992. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
