Councilmember <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION #92-02- <br /> ~ . <br /> <br />RESOLUTION !URGING THE STATE OF MINNESOTA TO EXPAND THE <br />FUNDING FOR !THE STATE OUTDOOR RECREATION GRANT PROGRAM <br /> <br /> WHEREA.~, the State has invested over $50 million in local outdoor recreation projects, <br />which has been mat~:hed by over $57 million in local government funds; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the State program has been significant incentive to local governments to <br />undertake .needed park acquisition and development projects; and <br /> <br /> WltlgREA~S, the State program has helped accelerate renovation and replacement of <br />facilities that di~ nol~ meet the handicapped accessible standards; and <br /> WltE~E.A$, parks play an important role in many communities' economic development <br />efforts by improving the desirability of the community as a place to live and work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the demand for State assistance through this program remains strong and <br />that in 1991 Odly $',1 million in State funds was available to help meet over $,4 million in grant <br />requests. <br />NOW THERI~FO~E, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF,THE CITY <br />OF RAMSE¥, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follow, s: <br /> <br />1) That the Ratnsey City Council urges the State to continue and expand funding for the <br /> State's 0utdbor Recreation Program to help local governments throughout Minnesota <br /> provide ~dequate outdoor recreation opportunities, acquire and protect open space areas and <br /> improveilthe quality of life for present and future generations. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> . and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resoiution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br />the 25th day of Feb~ary, 1992. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />City Adminisa'ator <br /> <br /> <br />
