Boards and Commissions. <br />ollow ing Boards and Commissions: <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey hereby <br /> <br /> Planning Commission <br /> <br /> Park and Recreation Commission <br /> Economic Development Commission <br /> Fire Board <br /> <br /> Horse Care Board <br /> <br /> Board of Building Appeals <br /> <br /> ~ Board of Adjugtment and Appeals <br /> Su~d. 2. Purpose of Boards and Commissions. All Boards and <br />Commissions orca;fled by this section shall be for the purpose of advising the City Council with <br />respect to any ~uni¢ipal function or activity or to perform quasi judicial functions as designated <br />herein and/or aslde~ignated from time to time by City Council Resolution. <br /> Subd. 3. Abolishment. The City Council may by ordinance abolish any <br />Board or Commission created herein. <br /> <br />2~03.02 ApPointment of Members, Terms of Office and Removal. <br /> Sul3d. 1. Nine 'Voting Members and Residence Requirement. Each <br />Board or Com~is~°n will consist of no more than nine voting members in accordance with the <br />City of Ramsey! C.fiarter, all of whom shall be residents of the City of Ramsey. Members shall <br />represent a broa~ far, ge of interest in functions of the City. <br /> Siubrid. 2. Ex-Officio Members. The City Council may appoint, by <br />majority vote, a eo~n¢il member(s) or city staff person(s) as ex-officio member(s) of any Board or <br />Commission privileged to speak on any matter without a vote, and the ex-officio member(s) shall <br />provide a Iiaison!'be!~veen the Board or Commission and City Council. <br /> S~b~1, 3. Appointment and Oath. Members of a Board or Commission <br />shall be appointe. Zt by. a majority vote of the City Council for staggered two year ~erms, except that <br />any person app~nt~l to fill a vacancy occumng prior to the exp~ranon of the term for which <br />predecessor WaS iap~Ointed shall be appointed only for the remainder of such term. Each appointed <br />member shall, bef~'e entenng upon the d~schar~e of dunes, take an oath agreeing to faithfully <br />dischame the du~esr;0f office. <br /> SUbd. 4. Serve Without Compensation. All members of a Board or <br />Commission Sha~l Serve without compensation. Board or Commission members may receive a <br />stipend for expertest, as established by resolution of the City Council. <br /> S'~bd. 5. Unexcused Absences. Any Board or Commission member <br />havinz three or rfior'¢ unexcused absences in any given year sh~ll be cause for review of member <br />status~on the Bo~d Or Commission and the City Council.'shall make a determination, with Board or <br />Commission re~orhmendation, as to that'members continued service on the Board or <br />Commission. <br /> <br />2.03.03 Organization, Meetings, Etc. <br /> <br /> <br />
