RESOLUTION NO. 29 <br /> <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION SETTING POLICY DECISION ON SUBDIVISION CONTROL, WITHIN <br />THE TRANSITIONAL AND RURAL AREAS AS INDICATED IN THE URBAN PLANNING <br />DISTRICT STUDY REPORT DATED MARCH 15, 1976, FOR PURPOSES OF CITY <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is to receive a "plan <br />review" from the Metropolitan Council concerning the Urban Planning <br />District Study Report, dated March 15, 1976, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is to receive a "System. <br />Statement" from the Metropolitan Council outlining the City of <br />Ramsey's responsibility in complying with the Land Planning Act, <br />and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council recognizes the need <br />to plan for development outside of the Urban Service Area and to <br />insure this growth occurs contiguously, economically feasible, and <br />environmentally safe, as well as can be reasonably expected, <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Ramsey City Council <br />establishes two and one half (2½) acre minimum lot size in the <br />Transitional Area and five (5) acre minimum lot size in the Rural <br />Area, with density in the Rural Area not to exceed four (4) housing <br />units per forty (40) acres, as indicated in the Urban Planning <br />District Study Report, new subdivisions within the Transitional <br />Area will be required to provide bituminous street surfacing and <br />underground utilities, which will be more restrictive than new <br />subdivision within the Rural Area, said Council directs these <br />lot sizes and restrictions, along with other appropriate subdivision <br />controls, be implemented into future City planning projections. <br /> <br /> NOW FURTHERMORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Ramsey City Council <br />will consider these minimum requirements to be in effect until such <br />time said Council deems it necessary to review and/or revise this <br />policy, said policy is intended to be advisory only and is an <br />indication of the Ramsey City Council's intentions and shall not <br />be effective as law until the appropriate ordinances are in force: <br /> <br />Adopted this 13th day of December 1976. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />(SEAL) <br /> <br />Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
