Attorney Goodrich presented a request from Attorney Nielson to obtain a variance in writing on a metes and bounds subdivision of Gorham's Sandy Acres. Mr. Nielso~ feels the lot was conveyed in violation of the City's subdivision ordinance. Motion'by Mickelson, Seconded by Reimann to adopt Resolution No. 32 granting a variance from the City of Ramsey Ordinance 75-5 in order to permit a conveyance by a metes and bounds description of the following described property. W 217.8 feet of the E 435.6 feet of the South 200 feet of the North 1433 feet of the West half of the SE Quarter of Section 24, Township 32, Range 25, in Aneka County Minnesota as measured along the North and East lines of said West half of the SE quarter subject to an easement for road purposes over the East 33 feet thereof. Mr. Wayne Sweedal, requesting a subdivision of a lot on Bower Drive, was present in the audience. Attorney Goodrich explained Mr. Sweedal's problem to the Council. Mr. Sweedal is to go through Planning & Zoning with his request with a public hearing being scheduled in. accordance, with the City's subdivision ordinance. Attorney Goodrich reported that the Odegaard dog problem is set for continuance to April. A trial had been set for mid February but the Odegaard's filed an affadavit of prejudice on the judge. Mr. Goodrich had Ramsey Police go out and c~unt the dogs. He counted 30 to 32 dogs outside'and did not know how many were inside. He said the City will proceed under the kennel license ordinance as well as nuisance. 'Building Department Report Regd"by Mr. Nere'son. Mayor Cox requests'the inspector list the number of inspection, building and assessing separately on his report in the future. Councilman Gorham said the personnel committee will discuss the prospect of hiring a certified building inspector to assist Mr. Wirz versus using part time labor to free Mr. Wirz for more administrative work. Street Department Report 'Read by Mr. Nereson: Councilman Re,mann asked about plans for insulating the new maintenance building. Mr. Mevissen said he plans to do this sometime next fall. Park Commission. Mr. C°6per said he would like to attend the Metro Council meeting on a multi- purpose trail course for hiking and biking trails through Ramsey to propose · to them to include Trott Brook in this. He feels Ramsey has an excellent chance for funding on this program. Mayor Cox gave Mr. Cooper authorization to represent Ramsey at the meeting and expressed his appreciation for.him taking the time to work on the project.
