Commissioner Van Scoy asked if the intent is to have a sidewalk in front of each unit. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Trudgeon indicated there would be sidewalks or <br />trails on all public streets, but not on the back to back units. <br /> <br />Commissioner Van Scoy indicated the question with the driveway length is not having cars <br />parking over sidewalks. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Trudgeon stated they would never have that <br />situation because there are not sidewalks by the driveways. <br /> <br />Commissioner Van Scoy asked where parking would be allowed, and Assistant Community <br />Development Director Trudgeon explained. Commissioner Van Scoy confirmed the driveways <br />were double-wide. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Trudgeon stated they are, and go to double-wide <br />garages. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jeffrey asked if the 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. ordinance would be an issue for people <br />on this street. <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Trudgeon indicated it would, and Staff has been <br />talking to the Police Department to come up with a resolution. He stated there may be a desire to <br />change the ordinance to allow parking in Town Center, but there are some public safety issues to <br />work on that they are still trying to resolve. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Brauer, seconded by Chairperson Nixt to recommend that the City <br />Council approve the preliminary plat of Ramsey Town Center 2nd Addition subject to compliance <br />with City Staff Review Letter dated January 30, 2004 and approval of the preliminary site plan <br />with the following conditions: <br /> 1. The Developer obtains a variance from the 20-foot setback requirement. <br /> 2. The Developer obtains a variance for driveway length as applicable. <br /> 3. Details of the rain garden plantings are outlined on the landscape plan. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Brauer, Jeffrey, Shepherd, Van <br />Scoy and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Johnson. <br /> <br />Case #8 <br /> <br />Request for Site Plan Review of Ramsey Town Center 2nd Addition; Case of <br />Ramsey Town Center LLC and D. R. Horton Homes <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Assistant Community Development Director Trudgeon advised Staff has received architectural <br />elevations and floor plans for the units. The development is proposing two different attached <br />housing styles.
