Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />disapprove of authorizing the City of Ramsey to replace the decorative post <br />located on driveway edge at MR. Acer's residence at 8600 176th Avenue NW <br />that were damaged by the City's snow plow truck when plowing snow on Thursday, <br />December 30, 1982. Further, that if Mr. Acers wants to replace these posts <br />he must contact the Public Works Superintendent as to where he should locate <br />said posts. It is further directed that the Public Works Superintendent make <br />a cursory check of the City as to how many other residences have the same <br />possible problems and report back to Council. It is further directed that <br />an article be published in the "Ramsey Resident" informing the public that <br />the City is not responsible for damage to articles that are obstructing the <br />City right-of-way. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilmember Schlueter feels that educating the public <br />and direction for the Public Works Superintendent should not be included in <br />the motion regarding Mr. Acers case -- that there should be two different <br />motions. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Schlueter, Reimann, <br />Sorteberg and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 9:15 P.M. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular Council meeting back to order at 9:48 P.M. <br /> <br />Council then acted on amendment to Waste Management's Landfill Permit in <br />Ramsey, which was brought up during Case #4 of Council Old Business. <br /> <br />Amendment To Waste Management's Landfill Permit in Ramsey: <br /> <br />This subject was brought up for discussion during Case #4 of Council Old <br />Business and City Engineer Raatikka was instructed to prepare a letter <br />from Ramsey City Council to Bruce Brott of MPCA. <br /> <br />City Engineer now reviewed the proposed letter with Council. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner to <br />approve the proposed letter regarding amendment to Waste Management's Landfill <br />Permit in Ramsey, further that said letter be forwarded to Mr. Bruce ~rott <br />of MPCA. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Council then proceeded with Council New Business. <br /> <br />Case ~2: Authorization For The City Engineer To Establish Vertical Control <br /> In The Urban Area (Bench Marks) For Public Utilities, Request For: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />approve of authorizing Mr. Peter Raatikka of Hakanson Anderson Associates, <br />Inc. to proceed with the project to establish vertical control in the urban <br />area at a cost not to exceed $4,566. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
